Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Approved: August 07, 2025 | Expires: August 31, 2030

Bioflyte, Inc. provides the BioTOF™ z200 Bio Aerosol Identifier and MailScreen™ 200 Hazardous Mail Workstation (the Technology). The Technology is biological and chemical mass spectrometers that use robotics and artificial intelligence to analyze aerosol samples for biological and chemical threats.


Volt Inc.

Approved: July 30, 2025 | Expires: July 31, 2028

Volt Inc. provides VOLT AI. The Technology is an AI model-enabled video analytics platform that monitors video feeds in real-time to identify events and flag these for human review and escalation. The Technology also includes data management via video feed and alerts; interface management via Volt Portal; and the installation, configuration, technical support services, training, and software updates.


Itemiser 5X

Approved: July 28, 2025 | Expires: August 30, 2030

Rapiscan Systems, Inc., provides Itemiser® 5X. The Technology is a portable, desktop device for trace detection of explosives. The Technology detects trace amounts of explosive residue on soft (e.g., luggage, clothing, skin), hard (e.g., laptops, mobile devices), and other surfaces. The Technology also includes maintenance and repair services, manuals, and training.


Southern Methodist University (SMU)

Approved: July 28, 2025 | Expires: November 30, 2030

Southern Methodist University (“SMU”), a non-profit independent university chartered in the State of Texas and its affiliate, SMU Corp., incorporated in the State of Texas, provide SMU’s Security and Emergency Management Program (the “Technology”). The Technology includes policies, procedures, programs, equipment and personnel. SMU also provides security services as a subcontractor to the Office of Presidential Libraries, National Archives and Records Administration (“NARA”), for the George W. Bush Presidential Center (“GWBPC”) (“Bush Center”).


FinClusive Capital, Inc.

Approved: June 27, 2025 | Expires: July 31, 2030

FinClusive Capital, Inc. provides Terrorism Financing Detection Program. The Technology is a cloud-hosted software platform that enables customers to complete financial crimes compliance screens (i.e., anti-money laundering, know your customer, and customer due diligence) on parties making transactions via their business.


Royal Realty Corp. d/b/a The Durst Organization, Royal 1 WTC Management LLC, and Durst WTC Holding LLC

Approved: June 26, 2025 | Expires: August 31, 2030

Royal Realty Corp. d/b/a The Durst Organization, Royal 1 WTC Management LLC, and Durst WTC Holding LLC provides One World Trade Center Security Program. The Technology is an integrated security system based on suggested guidelines derived from State and local fire prevention codes and government agency recommendations, and it is in compliance with New York Local Law 26. The Technology is comprised of policies and procedures, trained personnel, and physical and electronic anti-terrorism security measures.


Rocket Ball, Ltd. and Clutch City Sports & Entertainment, L.P.

Rocket Ball, Ltd. and Clutch City Sports & Entertainment, L.P. provides Toyota Center Security Program. The Technology is a comprehensive area security program composed of physical and electronic security measures and procedures designed to detect, deter, prevent, respond to, and mitigate Acts of Terrorism during game days, non-game days, special events, and functions. The Technology includes persistent security coverage and incorporates systems; security practices; the selection and maintenance of electronic security measures; and the hiring, vetting, training, and management oversight of its employees and contractors.

Halpert Life Safety Limited Liability Company provides the SHIELD Protocol. The Technology is a combination of value engineering, inspection and quality control services performed to ensure a building conforms to current firestop codes and standards. The Technology also includes training for third-party firestop inspectors.


Aircraft Delivery Security Operations

Approved: June 24, 2025 | Expires: June 30, 2030

Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP provides Security, Fire, and Life Safety Systems Integration Services. The Technology is integration, maintenance, and monitoring services for systems that can deter, prevent, detect, alert, and respond to a variety of security and life safety threats. The Technology includes the integration and maintenance of the following types of systems: fire alarm and detection systems; fire sprinkler systems; fire suppression systems; integrated security applications that link access control, CCTV, and fire; and mass notification systems.
